Revolutionising the way legal research is collected

In a groundbreaking project, our agency spearheaded the digital transformation of a leading global legal research firm’s internal SaaS business data and research systems.

Tasked with modernising a platform that supports over 250 researchers and covers extensive data on more than 80,000 lawyers worldwide, we embarked on a mission to enhance efficiency, streamline processes, and create a user-centric system that would meet the complex needs of the firm’s diverse business divisions.

This case study details our comprehensive approach and the remarkable outcomes achieved through strategic service design and rigorous implementation.

Project objectives

The project began with a discovery phase focused on end-to-end (E2E) service design for the entire business-critical platform.

We identified key business divisions requiring digitalisation, redefined the new operational landscape, and rigorously tested the system before its launch. Our efforts resulted in a remarkable reduction of task process times by up to 500%.

Comprehensive Design and Development Execution

### Case Study: Digital Transformation for a Global Legal Research Firm

Our agency led a comprehensive digital transformation for a global legal research firm, revolutionising their internal SaaS business data and research systems. This critical platform supports over 250 researchers and encompasses detailed research on more than 80,000 lawyers worldwide.

#### Project Overview

#### Service Design and Strategy

As part of the service design, we conducted heuristic reviews of the existing systems and designs. These reviews were instrumental in redefining the product strategy and user journeys. By working closely with stakeholders, we established key performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks for the project and each system area, ensuring the project’s success.

#### User-Centric Approach

We conducted discovery sessions to understand the diverse needs of users from various business areas, including the research department, insights team, and sales team. This user-centric approach ensured that the new system would effectively meet the requirements of all stakeholders.

#### Testing and Development

Our testing strategy included Gorilla testing of MVP products, running remote testing sessions individually, and utilising software for large-scale quantitative sessions. This thorough testing process ensured the system’s robustness and reliability.

We created wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity (Hifi) designs for the development team. Collaborating with multiple development teams, we oversaw the implementation of new data capture systems, data analytical systems, and a publishing system.

Through our comprehensive approach to digital transformation, we successfully enhanced the efficiency and effectiveness of the firm’s research operations, setting a new standard for their digital capabilities.

Project outcomes

The redesigned portal significantly enhanced user engagement and satisfaction among residents and staff. We also streamlined internal processes, resulting in a 40% reduction in task management time and enabling staff to resolve issues and track maintenance more effectively. By maintaining a consistent visual identity across the portal, we reinforced Peabody’s brand presence. The project received positive feedback from stakeholders and end-users, validating the success of the transformation.

Conclusion

The digital transformation project for the global legal research firm exemplifies our agency’s expertise in UX and digital innovation. By meticulously redesigning their internal SaaS business data and research systems, we significantly improved operational efficiency and user satisfaction.

Our user-centric approach, combined with rigorous testing and strategic service design, ensured a seamless transition to a modern, robust platform. The remarkable reduction in task process times by up to 500% highlights the project’s success and our commitment to delivering impactful digital solutions.

This case study underscores our ability to drive substantial improvements in business performance through targeted digital transformation initiatives.
